Paul Ward formed Bees N’ Trees Ltd, as an independent technical advisor, having been a group technical director with a UK berry marketing company. He’s gained over 30 years’ experience in all technical aspects of UK vegetables, glasshouse salads, potatoes from Egypt, Spain & UK, tropical fruit, & stonefruit & cherries for Malet Azoulay /Univeg UK world-wide, before moving to berry crops. Motivation: Technical excellence, industry leading innovation, & commercial awareness at all times. The 5 important things you should know about Paul:

1 – Paul is highly motivated: no challenge is too great for him. He started life in ADAS, & within two years was managing the whole technical, production & supply side of a leading UK co-operative in the 1990’s.

2 – His experience is diverse. As an extension agronomist, he has worked world-wide in delivering sustainable, complete supply chain horticultural solutions for leading suppliers to UK’s leading retailers.

3 – He is well regarded within the stonefruit industry world-wide.

4 – Qualifications gained include a certificate & degree in horticulture (Agronomy) UCD, BASIS & FACTS qualified, Basic Hygiene training (Level 2), HACCP training, Auditor training, including Field to Fork, Waitrose Risk Assessment training & senior management / director training by More People & Mdina.

5 – Key feature: All businesses Paul has worked at have grown rapidly & profitably by delivering highly innovative products to their customers. He was a key part in the rapid growth of Univeg UK from ÂŁ17M to ÂŁ265M in 16 years. He’s established grower clubs world-wide, helped write many protocols now used in industry, been involved in ground breaking post-harvest solutions, played key roles in global crisis management issues, such as morpholine in fruit coatings, & glass in South African packaging, & sits on the Pesticides & Food Chemicals group within Fresh Produce Consortium.

Paul Lives in Lincolnshire with his wife & two daughters. He is passionate about education for his children. He is an active member of the Shepherd’s Food Ministry charity, helping Nigerian small holders to store & market their produce. He loves motor biking, & is a long distance single sculler, with Lincoln Rowing Centre. Paul has travelled extensively & enjoys communicating with people in all walks of life.
